Privacy Policy

Overview

Grade Calculator (the "Site", at www.teachergradecalculator.com) is a free online tool that helps teachers calculate test percentages, letter grades and grading charts. This policy explains what information is and is not collected when you use the Site.

Student data and scores

All calculations run entirely in your web browser. Student names, scores, wrong-answer counts and class lists that you type into the Site are not sent to our servers and are not stored by us. They exist only in your browser tab and are cleared when you close or refresh the page.

Information saved on your device

To remember your preferences, the Site uses your browser's local storage. This may include your theme (light or dark), your chosen grade scale, passing percentage, rounding setting and recently used test lengths. This information stays on your device. We cannot see it, and you can remove it at any time by clearing your browser's site data.

Analytics and server logs

The Site is hosted on Vercel. Like most hosting providers, Vercel may automatically collect basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type and pages requested, for security, performance and operation of the service. We may also use privacy-focused analytics or performance tools (such as Vercel Analytics or Speed Insights) to understand overall traffic and page speed. This data is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally.

We also use Google Search Console, which provides us with aggregated data about how the Site appears in Google search results.

Cookies and advertising

The Site does not currently require you to create an account and does not use cookies to track you across other websites. If we show advertising in the future, third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. We will update this policy before any advertising is introduced.

Third-party links

The Site may link to other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites, and we encourage you to read their policies.

Children's privacy

The Site is designed for teachers and other adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because student data you enter is never sent to us, we do not receive or store any student records.

Your rights

Because we do not collect or store personal data about you on our own servers, there is generally no personal data for us to access, correct or delete. If you are in the EU, UK, California or another region with privacy laws and believe we hold information about you, contact us and we will respond as required by law.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it was last changed. Continued use of the Site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
